Description: Visit my store at weldmongerstore.com for TIG Fingers, DVDs, and other quality welding tools. Read the full article on my website weldingtipsandtricks.com/stargon-al.html I like to mix in some helium for thicker aluminum but helium is pretty expensive these days. Adding in some helium makes the arc hotter and helps with establishing a puddle quicker on aluminum. Another option is Stargon AL shielding gas. Stargon AL is a proprietary gas from Praxair that has some small portion of other gases mixed in that help the arc. I ran into a snag during this video, but I learned something so I thought I would share it. For me, Stargon AL worked great with a gas lens and #8 cup but did not like a #5 cup at all.
